Even God forbid if we lose the next five games by 3 goals I am still happier than I have been as a West Ham fan for around three years football wise.
We look like a team sure we look a bit stretched at the back and Adrian has to do his impersonation of Super man to keep us in games but everything is coming up smelling of juicy sweet strawberries.
All is good believe me, ALL IS GOOD !

If we all stop and take stock of just where we are then there is no need for panic.
Yes, the first half was shocking but ,at the end of the day, Newcastle are not a bad side and should be around the middle of the table.
Would Wynaldum get in our side? Well, he would in mine ,also their right back Janmat, he gave Cresswell a real roasting.
Then again if someone came in with 15m for Cresswell I'd take it.
After what 22 games we sit on 35 points and fifth. How many on here would have snapped your hand off for that last August?
Get to the new Stadium there will be many changes in personal and all for the better.
We should be grateful for what we have .
A top ten side in the European places at this stage.
After next week, things in February should get easier and lots of potentially good points to be picked up.

Noble, Kouyat and Obiang looked like 3 proper old carthorses yesterday, I don't thik it works playing all 3 of them in the same side. At the end of the day pace and skill win games at this level and those 3 don't really possess either.

Let's see what happens next week, but that was fucking shit yesterday.

Reality cheque = Pay the bearer the sum of three points in our next game

My viewpoint..I was there.
First half was as bad as I've seen in many a year...absolute shambles.
Second half they bottled it and gave us possession..and we failed miserably.
All in all..one to forget.
And a certain pointer as to where we stand..top ten side at best.
Seriously outclassed by a bottom 3 side.
The midfield three were shockingly bad and Antonio was terrible.
Reality cheque without a doubt.

Games like this just highlight the fact we are still a good way off being a top draw side in the PL, top 10 but closer to 10 than that coveted 4th or higher.

Disappointing is how I would describe this game from our perspective, I thought we would get something from it.

It didn't occur to me but seems like basic common sense once pointed out.

Already looking forward to next weekend now, reckon Slav will have them well up for it.

Sullivan's older son David junior tweeted the same point last night. I believe West Ham travelled further than any other PL team in the last few days.

We are having a good season and still above where
I expect us to finish but it's disappointing that we don't seem to be able to get ourselves up for games against struggling teams - Norwich, Bournemouth, Villa, Swansea, Sunderland, West Brom and Newcastle.
Could have had a lot more points there from them. I just thought we didn't have that desire to win the ball and make things happen today.
Maybe it is too many games, some players not back match fit yet and the long trip.

I have been a season ticket holder for 35 years and you seem to be reading something I haven't I said?

Where have I said about splashing loads of money other than the board have the opportunity to invest at time when it could possibly pay off big time if we can maintain or improve our position over the remainder of the season and there are a couple of immediate areas in the squad that would benefit from a good signing, that could be someone on a free or £10m as long as it is the right player.

In the past the club have been notorious for not spending in a position of strength, though one time I recall actually doing it in recent years was signing Dean Ashton who helped us to a Cup Final and this January is a chance to do something similar.

If the board do not have the funds or are content to carry on with what we have fair enough and even if we drop a few places Fair enough as it will still have been a good season for me but who knows when the next opportunity will come around for us to realistically challenge the top 4 something a couple of decent signings might let us do this season.

The problem here is to seem to take comments that suggest we could do better as a negative criticism rather than constructive, my only real gripe today is that many including myself have got carried away expecting to beat Newcastle when really we are not that good yet.

I read Tony Pulis' comments about the teams who played away twice this week with a short turnaround:

"It would be interesting to see how many teams played away midweek and then picked up points away from home this weekend, because our players did look leggy."

Sounds sensible to me.

Re: Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-1
We're having a brilliant season and just had an off day away to a Newcastle team who had a spring in their step. Plus, with a bit of luck near the end, we might have even nicked an undeserved draw. That's a good sign.

We've had so much positive publicity this week on the back of the Bournemouth game and Payet in particular. It looked like that additional pressure perhaps had an impact today as there was an increase in expectation. Newcastle away will always be a tough game.

I think everyone would have taken where we are now at the start of the season. Write today off and move on.

two away games this week, one against a team who'd just spent big money (for them) on a couple of strikers and were confident, the other team coming off a decent performance against the manc scum. three points is decent from this week

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...Lets all calm down...

We've had a bad day at the office...it happens.

This is Bilic's first season in charge, and he's doing a very good job. Yes, there are areas for improvement, but come on now, for the money we have spent we're doing really well.

Lets look at the positives.

We're generally easy on the eye to watch, and for the most part, very hard to beat( with today being one of the few exceptions of course)

After years of under performing, we're now assembling a squad that looks like it's going places - it's only going to get better....

It could be worse, we could go back to 2003 when we was relegated and had the team ripped apart and best part of it, sold to shitcunts like Chelsea and Tottenham.

So stop acting like a bunch of girls. Lets dust ourselves off, and be ready to do the double over Man City...;-)

COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!!

Well glad I ended up missing significant chunks between maintaining a birth pool's water temperature, serving up tea to the midwives, and supporting the missus in home birth!

Fortunately Lil' Miss Stubbo arrived safe and sound at 20.20 this evening.

Thanks for the well wishes earlier in the day! And she didn't take the name of the first scorer...nor the second...and she just didn't look like a Jela.
